Mevagissey Harbour is located just south of St Austell and is a good size town with plenty of shops and pubs.
There are public toilets located by the harbour and a public car park located just past the aquarium before the ferry.

It’s a lovely town with a beautiful harbour and amazing views. After a long day on the water, there are plenty of nice places to get some hot food and a tasty beverage.

There are two handy launch ramps with easy access to the water. One smaller ramp and one larger pictured below.

The only issue with Mevagissey Harbour is how busy it gets.
The roads (as with all old cornish fishing villages) are very narrow with tight turns and limited access. You will struggle with any large vans or big vehicles.
When I come here again, and if anyone is thinking of venturing to Mevagissey. I would advise arriving very early and making a day of it as once the tourists all pile in the place is gridlocked very quickly.

Mevagissey Harbour Cornwall
The Harbour at Mevagissey is alive with life, there are fish everywhere from mackerel to mullet, wrasse, bass, and everything in between.
This must be down to the water quality, as you can see below: Its crystal clear.

See below for a few more pictures of this beautiful place, teeming with life. The water is clear and clean and the harbour does not stink of diesel and oil like a lot of the others.
All in all Mevagissey Harbour is without a doubt a great place to launch your kayak from and or spend the day.
See you on the water…
